Microneedling

Goals and Suitability

Discuss the texture or scarring you want to improve and your previous skin treatments. Results vary, and more than one visit may be recommended. Ask which device will be used and about the experience of the treating provider.

Preparing for a Visit

Bring your medication and skin-care history. The team should explain preparation, comfort measures, and the planned treatment area. Do not assume that a product is safe to apply immediately after treatment simply because it is part of your normal routine.

Aftercare and Risks

Temporary redness, irritation, or bleeding may occur; infection and pigment changes are also possible. Suitability requires an individual assessment, including for darker skin tones. Follow your provider’s product and sun-protection instructions rather than adding treatments yourself.

Questions About Microneedling

Is microneedling the same as laser resurfacing?

No. They use different methods to treat skin. A consultation can compare their aims, limitations, and recovery requirements.

Are the results permanent?

Improvements and maintenance needs vary. Ask what change is realistic for your concern and when the result should be reassessed.
